In Gertrude Stein’s Doctor Faustus Lights the Lights, I programmed live-media feeds, video projections of drawings, original footage and found images, and projected segments of the play’s actual text to visually emulate the grammatical structure of Stein’s text. I was particularly interested in the interaction between virtual/actual presences in the context of live performance.
